About the Ride

The Tour de Queens is a fun-filled, family-friendly 19 mile bike tour, held every year in early July. The route changes every year in an effort to highlight different neighborhoods of Queens.

How the Tour de Queens Works

Timeline:
8 am: Rider check-in and registration opens
9:30 am: Check-in and registration closes
10 am: Tour departs
1:30 pm: The Tour returns to Astoria Park, in the same location as the start.

  • We ride rain or shine.
  • The tour is 19 miles of Queens's finest biking.
  • The Tour de Queens will have an NYPD police escort and safety cell.
    • The ride will have a family-friendly pace (in other words, slow). This is not a race.
    • The NYPD escorts the ride as a rolling parade and there will be occasional stops while the police and marshals secure intersections and gather riders.
  • The Tour will be supported by volunteer safety marshals. They are there to assist riders in need and to help safely move the tour through intersections.
  • Light snacks and water will be available the rest stop, located approximately half-way through the tour. Please bring your own water bottle. If you have any peanut allergies or will want a more substantive lunch, we recommend you bring your own food.
  • There is no SAG vehicle for the tour. If you have serious mechanical troubles or become exhausted on the tour, marshals will help you reach the nearest subway station or direct you to a bike shop.
  • We will be riding down two way streets. Please stay on your side of the road while riding in the Tour.
  • Registration is required.
  • In accordance with New York State law, helmets are required for riders age 13 and under.
